Account Deletion
This page explains how to delete your tunjuk.id account
and the data attached to it. The same terms apply to the account you use
in the tunjuk.id mobile app and on the tunjuk.id website — both use
one and the same account.
1. How to Request Deletion
Choose either of the following:
- Fill in the Contact Us form
with the subject “Account Deletion”; or
- Email admin@tunjuk.id with the subject
“Account Deletion”.
So that we can process your request, please include:
- the email address you use to sign in;
- the account provider you used — Google or
Facebook;
- whether you also want your comments deleted.
Sending the request from the same email address as your account is
preferable, so that we can confirm it really comes from the account
holder.
2. Data That Is Deleted
Once the request is verified, we delete:
- Your account data — display name, email
address, profile photo link, the account identifier from
Google/Facebook, and the provider's name.
- All your bookmarks — the list of articles you
marked along with their titles, images, and categories.
- Notifications addressed to your account.
- Your comments, if you asked for that in point 1
above.
3. Data That Is Retained
We state this openly so you know exactly what happens:
- Published comments, if you did not ask for their
removal. Comments are part of the public conversation on an article,
and removing them outright would break the thread of other readers'
replies. You may request their removal at any time.
- Technical server logs — records of IP addresses
and request activity created automatically for security and
troubleshooting. Kept for at most 90 days, after
which they expire on their own.
- The deletion request email or message itself, as
evidence that we received and processed your request.
- Aggregate figures such as an article's read count.
These contain no one's identity and cannot be traced back to you.
- Data we are required to keep longer by applicable law.
4. How Long It Takes
We respond to a complete request within at most 7 working
days, and the data deletion is completed within at most
30 days of the request being verified. We will notify you
by email once the process is done.
5. What You Should Know
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Deleted bookmarks cannot be restored.
- Removing the app from your device does not delete your
account. Its data stays on the server until you submit a
request through this page.
- You can still read all the news on tunjuk.id without an account after
yours is deleted.
- You may create a new account at any time by signing in again with
Google or Facebook.
